I was inspired after watching this video by the South China Morning Post on the "Reunion Season" in China after months of lockdown to create this piece. It made me so happy seeing all these families and friends become reunited; while it was heartbreaking to think of these young children being separated from their parents, it was also beautiful to see how much joy came from simply being together again. I wanted to evoke that childlike, simplistic happiness in this portrayal of that reunion, and it makes me so hopeful for the day that we come out of quarantine, too!
